Location
We are at an altitude of 1,800 m and are located directly on one of the most beautiful alpine roads in Austria - the "Zillertaler Höhenstraße", which is only open in summer.
In winter you can find us at the departure of the 6-seater chair lift "Neuhütten". You can reach this lift if you drive north at the mountain stations of the gondola lifts to the right. Numerous hikes are possible from the Kaltenbacher Schihütte, for example to the Arbiskopf (2,068m) or our local mountain - the Gedrechte (2,317m), there is also a lot for our younger guests.
Eating and Drinking
Our kitchen spoils you throughout the day with down-to-earth Zillertal specialities as well as game dishes from our very own game enclosure.
Owner Stefan Schweiberer himself prepapres local delights, such as Kasspatzln, Kaiserschmarren, or Speckknödel, as well as classic dishes.

THE Zillertal destination for people of all ages right beside the Zillertal Alpine Road
The Murmelland Zillertal ("Marmot Land") offers you unique nature experiences at 1,800 m - and all that can be reached comfortably by car or bus on the Zillertal Alpine Road.
Around the "Kaltenbacher Skihütte", the Schweiberer Family created a marmot park with adventure playground, in order to provide visitors not just with fun and games but also with nature - in the shape of marmots. The children in particular enjoy themselves immensely, due to the many activities available to them here. Many animals, such as rabbits and goats, can be viewed up close.
